Arup is a global design and engineering firm and a leading creative force in the built environment. It was founded 60 years ago by the engineer and philosopher, Ove Arup, who instigated the concept of ‘total design’, in which teams of professionals from diverse disciplines work together on projects of exceptional quality.
Since 2003, the Foresight & Innovation team has conceptualized and facilitated over 60 workshops worldwide that explore the potential impact of leading drivers of change on the future of business. Over the years, the workshops have involved over 4000 participants, who have contributed to assessing emerging trends and technologies as well as how ‘foresight by design’ can lead to enhanced business results. This holistic body of knowledge is also utilized within Arup to inspire and advance the development of a sustainable built environment.
